Newbie questions
Hi, just migrated from Quicken and I notice that I seem to have a Moneydance Base Checking and Bank Checking for each account. What/why is that? All I did was export and import a QIF file.

That's strange. Which version of Quicken were you coming from? Can you confirm that you were following the import instructions available at http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/importing-data-from-banks-and-other... ?

Hi, Ethan.
Yes, I did follow those instructions.
After several efforts installing, and removing accounts, what I am left
with is:
1. One Brown Checking Base (with purple stacks of dollars graphic); and
2. Two items called Checking, Checking SLO (these are names I provided--
with the bank building graphic).
What is the base?
To get to this point, I had to remove several other items called base and
other building items without names. I just deleted them.
I did also read your manual and can find no description of the base account.
Thanks,
Pamela

Hello Pamela,
I think you may have encountered a bug that we fixed in a recent update. To be sure, could you send in a screenshot of the window that appears when you go to Tools -> Accounts? If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, please see http://take-a-screenshot.org/
It may make sense at this point to download the latest preview version at http://infinitekind.com/preview and create a new data file (File -> New) to try to import again. This shouldn't happen with the latest preview version.
