Transfers from Accounts not in MD database - like I could in Quicken
In Quicken when I wanted to transfer money in or out of a Quicken Account to an account that I did not track in Quicken, I did a transfer to the same account in Quicken where the money was being deposited or removed but with the account name in [ . .] brackets as the source/destination. This worked well for money I did not want to track in Quicken.
eg Transfer $100 into account ABC in Quicken from an place not monitored by Quicken: In account ABC I would put a deposit of $100 from account [ABC], resulting in an increase of $100 in the balance on account ABC.
How do I do the equivalent in MD 2015 (Windows)? In MD I cannot transfer money "to the same account" as in Quicken, so how do I code a transaction to make this work?

Hi
I believe the simplest solution is to create an expense category called "Transfers out". Then when you enter the transaction select that expense category.

Ben:
I guess that would be the easy way - I was thinking more complicated! - Thanks
