you are
not intending to be insulting of a new customer. I now have six
different
data files, each derived from File>New. Each migrated from

the investment accounts. As a single QIF file and as individual

I'm sure if it did that Users would be screaming murder.

If you truly wanted to remove every bit of information,
including saved reports, your license key etc etc then on Windows
you would remove the .moneydance directory tree in your home
directory. Starting Moneydance then will act like a new install and
you have to enter you license key etc etc.

I do not know where the exact location is on other O/S - I am
only a MoneyDance user and only have it installed on Windows.
However using menu items like Help --> show documents folder
will show where all your data sets are located in a explorer type
window and I would envisage you could find the location using
this.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/388323742016-01-05T15:33:10Z2016-01-05T15:33:10Zcleaning out

Hi Bob,

To reset everything to default, you'll need to remove all of
your existing datasets first, and then reset your configuration
file. To do this I'd recommend taking the following steps:

Open Moneydance.
Click the Help menu -> Show Documents Folder,
and close Moneydance. From here you can select and delete the
contents of your documents folder.
Now you'll need to reset your configuration file, to do this you'll
have to rename your config.dict file. If you're using Mac OS X, it
should be located at one of these locations within your Home
folder:

~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application
Support/Moneydance/config.dict

or:

~/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/config.dict

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open
Finder and select Go>Go to Folder> and type in:

~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

If you're using Windows, it should be located at:

C:\Users\(yourusername)\.moneydance\config.dict

Once you've found your config.dict file, close Moneydance and
rename it (to something like config2.dict, for example), then open
Moneydance again and it will appear as though you've just installed
Moneydance for the first time, so you'll have to re-enter your
license key.

Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me with any questions
about this process!
