The Moneydance software developers believes it does work and posted this on his Slack site back in August:
"In case anyone here uses a ChromeBook, it's now possible to run Moneydance on them. Also, I've put out our first of many tutorial videos explaining how to load and run Moneydance on ChromeOS. https://youtu.be/pClqlnj3PGw "
I do not use Chromebook so can make no comment on it. Otherwise Moneydance works on Windows, Mac & Linux.
I believe that there is a Moneydance app for iOS which I suppose would/should work on an iPad but I believe you have to have the "Home Base" file on a PC, Mac, or Linux/Chromebook machine. Below is a link to the AppStore:

You will need at least one of the devices you sync with the be a full desktop version of the program. The mobile apps are only made to work as extensions of the main program, not as standalone programs themselves.

Yes, that's correct, I meant the version that will run on a standard desktop or laptop. Not the mobile apps intended for iOS or Android. You can primarily use the iOS app on your iPad if that's your preference, but for that app to work, it needs to be synced with the program on your desktop/laptop.
If I decide to go with a Chrome book what size memory/ram should I have to support this program? I am noticing that many only have 4gb ram and 32gb internal storage. I’m not sure that would be sufficient.
