Can you please explain your question in more detail? Were you already using Moneydance before you purchased it? If so, why are you wanting to go into Time Machine, instead of using your current data file?

My wife has been running Moneydance for about 6 years.

I am going to start running my own Moneydance, but would like to start with here existing data, instead of manually inputting all the data that she already has.

Lot of reasons for running two systems, some good, some not.

But yes, bottom line is I will be running a separate system, but would like to start with her data.

Did I make any sense???

Max Corsketag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/481051902020-02-20T23:24:19Z2020-02-20T23:24:19ZLoading Data

Thanks, that helps a bit. It still doesn't really answer the Time Machine issue though, unless this computer that your wife was running Moneydance on no longer exists?

If you are moving from Moneydance from one computer to another, we already have detailed instructions for this, which you can read at: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/file-locations-and-changes/mo...

I guess if your only option is Time Machine, you would modify step 5 to look for your data file in the location where it is stored there, as opposed to the other computer.

Beyond that, I think the only modification I'd suggest to those instructions is that when you have copied the data file over to your new computer (between steps 5 and 6), you rename the data file slightly so that you can be sure you can distinguish your data file from hers. It's unclear from your description if you both will be using the same computer still, but that will help to keep the data files distinguished.

You should then both have different data files that start with the same information, but will be completely separate moving forward. If that's still not quite what you are aiming for, let me know how I'm misunderstanding what you are asking.
