I downloaded the free trial to see if I will like Moneydance. I have used Quicken until now, but want to try something else. It is important to be able to automatically update stock prices, and so far in the trial version I cannot get it to do this I have downloaded file extensions and have gotten an alpha key code and put that in. Being able to get stock quotes to update will make or break me buying this program.

    Hi Cynthia,

You'll need to establish your holdings in Moneydance in order for the extension to work.

Look to the knowledge base for information on importing your Quicken data. Doing so should establish your holdings. https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb

You could, of course just manually enter one of your holdings just to see how it works.

There is also a second extension for updating prices. The Quotes Loader; which in my opinion is a better choice.

You can find info on the Quote Loader extension by Mike Bray here:

It works very well for me and was easy to get working following the available PDF instructions.

Here's a little bit more direct link that rkmt is referring to.
