Have you look at the knowledge base article on setting up and using online bill payment:

https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/online-banking-and-bill-pay/o...

Electronic deposits are recorded the same way as over the counter deposits, is there a particular problem that you are seeing?

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485772962020-08-26T11:02:13Z2020-08-26T11:02:14ZElectronic Funds Transfers

Thank you for your response. I saw that knowledge base article. There is a difference between what they indicate and what I do.

I make a payment directly with the bank/credit card/whoever. And then I record it into my check register. Two separate actions. For the moment, I prefer it that way instead of doing it directly from my computer to the bank or whatever.

Additionally, if I’m re-creating transactions in the register back to January 1, 2020, I certainly don’t want to send another EFT payment to the payee. I just want to record the transaction from the past.

i.e click "New Transaction", then record what you want to record?

dtdtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485772962020-08-27T14:13:15Z2020-08-27T14:13:15ZElectronic Funds Transfers

Okay, I’m still learning Moneydance. I thought I had to have an entry in the box where you can enter the check number. However, the transaction still works if I leave that box blank. I’m sure I’ll have future learning moments.

Thank you.

LEE PEARSALLtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485772962020-08-27T21:44:07Z2020-08-27T21:44:07ZElectronic Funds Transfers

I'm a fellow user.

The Check number field is not mandatory. It can be a cheque number, that can be automatically generated, but it can indeed be left blank or other text used, that can also be stored on a permanent basis for your use, for example you could set up indicators like Dep. Pmt, EFT, Int etc to indicate various things. I sometimes use it for reference number when I have made an online payment and get a receipt or confirmation number.

dwg
