Quicken uses a proprietary data format so other vendors are not able to read the contents of Quicken's QDF files directly. So unless a company has some link to Quicken/Intuit they cannot directly use these files.

Moneydance can however process QIF files, and while these are not perfect as they were not intended for data migration purposes, they are the best file type that is available to us.

To obtain QIF files from Quicken you need to use Quicken's export function to create QIF files that contain the raw transaction data from your accounts.

Basic details on how to import these files into Moneydance can be found in the knowledge base at:

https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/importing-data-from-other-pro...

The knowledge base has many articles on using Moneydance the entry point is:

It is recommended that you download Moneydance and use it in trial mode to see if the software is suitable for you. Trial mode is fully functional, with the only restriction being a 100 manually transaction limit, imported transactions are unlimited.

The latest preview release (which contains the latest fixes) can be downloaded from:

At this time I would recommend using the Preview version - Build 2008. This solves some problems around the welcome screen.

dwg
