When something like this happens with a QIF import from another program it means that Moneydance encountered something that it did not have enough information to handle, of that the other program was being creative in it approach to recording financial transactions.

Moneydance being based on Accounting rules is strict on how thing have to be done.

Within the "Unspecified Account" examine the transactions on each one if you right click on it the software should take you to the "other side" of the transaction. If you examine this transaction you will probably to be able to identify the issue, it could be a wrong category for example, Quicken also gets creative and is known to draw on the account itself for thing like initial balance, this is a big no no in accounting.

If you cannot work it out then posting screen hots of both sides of the transaction may help us to work it out. At this stage I would have to say it sounds like a problem within the data.

dwg
