I'm a fellow user.
The 2015 guide is obsolete in many places and is more likely to mislead a new user.
The guide was replaced by an online Knowledge Base that is structured much like a manual with chapters and sections.
The entry point for the Knowledge Base is:

The first few major heading cover much of the basics, so that is I think the best place to start.
