I imported my accounts from quicken. Unfortunately I have about 30 accounts only a few of which are active. I see how to delete the accounts one at a time, but its a slow process over that many accounts. Is there a way to delte multiple accounts all at once?

If you delete accounts you delete all the transactions in those accounts and it is highly likely that there would be some transfers transactions between those accounts and still active account thus destroying the data integrity of the active accounts by removing transaction from them and corrupting the balance. You cannot remove one side of a transfer an leave the other side in place.

I would suggest you mark the no longer active accounts as inactive in Moneydance and remove them from the display instead of trying to delete them.

These are accounts with data that is over 10 years old, so I would prefer
to delete them. In any event I have already delete about 5 of them.

just a user - be prepared to be disappointed. Don't complain, as you've been told not to do what you have done. I have 35 years of data with many many old accounts - I did what was recommended - make them inactive, and removed them from view.

They are still there "in memory", but they don't intrude upon my current situation.

    Hi Dennis

I agree with the other users don’t delete accounts, make them Inactive and also remove them from the Side Bar, list on the left.
If the accounts you delete have transfers to/from active account deleting them will mess up the active accounts.
The reason some users think of deleting accounts is to reduce the Data Set (file) size but that does not work as Moneydance records the deletion and in fact the Data Set size will increase as you delete.

    Hope this helps.

Use toolbox. Advanced menu. Shrink dataset. To reduce file size.

Well since I have already deleted at least some of the account what would
the process be to restore them, or at least try and start over again at
    square one?

If you have a Moneydance backup from before you started deleting you would restore that, if you haven't the only way would be to create a new empty data set and perform the import again.
