I have used Quicken for years & currently use a version called Quicken for Windows (2000), and this was an upgrade for Y2K because I had been using a DOS version. I'll be downloading your Moneydance program onto my recently acquired MacBook Pro. Can I import my Quicken data? I really only need the last few years of my personal accounts, since I've retired and don't need my old office stuff. If I can import what I have, will my categories come through as well or will I have to go through and reinvent all of that?

Thank you,
Dick Foltz

I am just a user - not support staff.
Here is a link to the knowledge base articles on importing Quicken files. Good luck.

In general, you'll first need to export your data into the QIF format, which can then be imported into other programs like Moneydance. More details can be found at the link provided in the previous message.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to download our free trial version from http://infinitekind.com/downloads and experiment with the program before you decide if you would like to purchase it. The demo version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test things like importing from other programs and connections with your bank. If you decide to purchase the program at a later date (from http://infinitekind.com/purchase) you can keep all your data, the license key simply unlocks the ability to manually enter more transactions.

In case you haven't found it yet, detailed information on how to use the program can be found at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb

Once you have Moneydance installed, open the software and follow these steps related to LinkedIn export contacts:

    1. Go to the File menu in Moneydance.
    2. Look for an option like "Import" or "Import from Quicken" and choose the QIF file you exported from Quicken, as well as any LinkedIn export contacts if applicable.
    3. Moneydance will guide you through the import process. During this process, it will map your Quicken data, including any LinkedIn export contacts to the appropriate categories and accounts in Moneydance.

After the import is complete, review your data to ensure that all transactions, categories, and any linked LinkedIn export contacts have come through correctly. It's possible that some adjustments might be needed, especially if there are differences in how Moneydance handles certain aspects compared to your old Quicken version.
