Hi Ralph,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
There is a know issue with the Microsoft version, so we would strongly recommend downloading Moneydance from our website on this page.
The trial version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test downloading data from your bank, and importing data from other personal finance software.
If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all data you have entered during the trial period.
You can find the Moneydance knowledge base here which will be useful if you're using the program for the first time. I'd be happy to provide guidance if you have any questions or need assistance getting setup.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I would suggest you use the direct version, there have been problems with the Microsoft store version.

I downloaded from your website. However I get a screen that says that it is not a Microsoft-verified app. Still will not open.

If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store like Moneydance (in this case), you'll need to switch out of S mode.
Switching out of S mode is a one-way process. If you make the switch, you won't be able to go back. There's no charge to switch out of S mode.
If you are happy to do it, please follow the steps below:
1) On your PC running Windows 11 in S mode, open Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Update & Security Circular arrows Sync icon > Activation.
2) In the Switch to Windows 11section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)
3) On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.

That doesn’t sound like a good option to me. I think I will pass.

When Windows is in S mode is means that applications can only be purchased and installed from the Microsoft store, you cannot source applications from anywhere else including retail boxed kits or from the vendors of those applications.
When Windows is not in S mode you can still purchase from the Microsoft store but you can obtain applications from other sources.
Microsoft promote S mode as being for security. Personally I am far more cynical and see it as more for locking customers in and being in control of what they can use and where they can get it from, plus I suspect it is not a bad little side earner.
I have the same opinion of Apple's App Store.

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Ralph
Get your money back from Microsoft. Get out of S mode, I have never used it, too restrictive. Download Moneydance from https://infinitekind.com/preview its perfectly safe and not messed up by Microsoft. You also get the next full version free and from then on a 50% discount is you want to upgrade, plus free bug fix feature add builds between full version releases. Unlike Microsoft were you pay for full eversions upgrades.
Hope this helps.
