Importing .Data in CSV Format
Lately, companies have unexpectedly been sending me data in .CSV format. Any idea on the best way to access the data? Could it be imported into Moneydance or would I have to obtain spreadsheet software?

Depends on the format and what type of account? Investment or bank/credit card?

Stuart Beesley -
Thanks for responding to my post so quickly.
Unfortunately, I have no idea exactly what data is contained in each of the CSV files -- just that they contain my personal information.
I don't want to use Excel, as I don't want to give Microsoft access to my personal information, credit card information, or data. When it comes to software, I prefer a license to a subscription and local desktop software/storage to a cloud solution. Any ideas?

Without knowing the format of the data in the CSV file and if it is transactional data what type of account it is for we have no idea.
If it is a CSV file open it in a text editor, or download a speadsheet program and use that. there are plenty of programs other that Microsoft Excel that are installed and used locally.

If you need a program that will keep your files locally, I suggest Open Office, it contains all the same functions as Office 365 but is Open Source and Free. Google Open Office to see where you can obtain a copy.
