Categories with "/" are not imported properly from QIF files
Categories that contain a / are broken during import: The left side is put as the category and the right side is set as the tag.
Example: If the imported category is "Car / Auto: Fuel"
The Transaction Category is "Car" and the Tag is "Auto: Fuel"

That is correct.
This is the description from one of the QIF specification documents:
"Category or Transfer and (optionally) Class. The literal values are those defined in the Quicken Category list. SubCategories can be indicated by a colon (":") followed by the subcategory literal. If the Quicken file uses Classes, this can be indicated by a slash ("/") followed by the class literal. For Investments, MiscIncX or MiscExpX actions, Category/class or transfer/class."
The slash is the delineator for Classes (tags in Moneydance speak)
This is from the definition in the QIF Wiki entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicken_Interchange_Format
The Wiki entry has one of the more complete worked examples.
