What computer system are you using, and basically, isn't the file in your download folder?

I have window 11 home. I can find the app in the start menu but can't seem
to get it onto my desktop or banner menu.

Can you open it in the start menu, or is it the version where you install versus run it?

I can open it in the start menu. I can't create an icon to put on the bar
on desktop. This is the trial version of the software.

If Moneydance is in the menus and runs that says there is no problem with Moneydance itself. Adding a shortcut on the desktop or to the taskbar depends on the Operating system and has nothing to do with Moneydance, but how to do it depends on the Operating System and version and in some cases even the desktop environment. There is no mention of the Operating System or version in any of your posts.

@Steve I believe you are using a Windows* computer, if so, you should type 'Moneydance' in your Windows Search Field'. This will locate the program.
Right click' on the Moneydance icon and choose 'Pin to Taskbar'.
The icon will remain visible in your Taskbar, even when Moneydance is closed.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
