Too many errors.
Well, unfortunately, I give up.
I've been trying to get started with MD by converting from Quicken. I have failed. While I was able to get my bank and credit card accounts fairly functional, my 401k investment accounts were hopeless. Even when I downloaded everything directly from my Charles Schwab accounts, my MD accounts were hopelessly garbled. Forget about importing from a QIF file from Quicken. If I had nothing else to do I wouldn't have enough time to complete the conversion.
Solution:
I built a KVM win10 virtual machine session to just run Quicken. Works great.
Next Steps:
Hound Quicken to produce a Linux version.

I would say the chance of Quicken producing a Linux version are zilch, they have not even done what could be considered a half reasonable job of creating a macOS version.
I would expect the response would be use Crossover, Wine or a VM.
Many of us have been through the migrating of Investment files from Quicken, it is not pretty and there is work needed, it would not matter what software you migrated to.
Overall I spent weeks on the migration and have tidied up and refined some things since.
I now run Moneydance on both Windows and Linux.

I notice this is your first message - one to say "I give up."
May I ask, if you didn't bother to ask what you were doing wrong, why you did bother to tell us that you failed?
Just reading your message, I note some things you did wrong, but it appears you have no interest now. I personally have 35+ years of data in MD, moved from quicken to moneydance in 2021, and am glad i did. (MD does have a Linux version).
Is Moneydance perfect? Absolutely not, and I make suggestions as to what is wrong. I also volunteer to test changes to the program. But it is better overall than Quicken, and Quicken has the advantage of being listened to somewhat by banks and such.
Good luck with your virtual machine, using quicken there, and good luck in hounding Quicken for a Linux version.
