How do I use Mac Time Machine to recover/restore data if there is a damaged MD2015 file?

Generally, I open Time Machine for a particular document or file by opening that file on my Mac and clicking "Enter Time Machine" from the time machine icon in the very top bar (close to the date). In MD 2010 that did not seem to work reliably after I upgraded to Maverick, so I navigated to the ".MD" file in Finder, highlighted that file and then invoked Time Machine, again with the icon as above.

This would open many previous data files for MD. With this choice of many previously saved data files I could back off an hour or a day before the fault and re-start with a clean historical file.

In MD 2015 I can't seem to get Time Machine to work. Time Machine is a quick and easy backup tool for those of us who otherwise forget to manually export the file each day. How can I get Time Machine to work with MD 2015 please?

Thanks for your help and patience.

    Hi Bob,

You can restore your Moneydance data from Time Machine with the following steps:

    1) Start Moneydance
    2) Select the Help->Show Documents Folder menu, which will display the data folder in the Finder
    3) Enter Time Machine and select the date for which you'd like to restore your data and click the Restore button

That will restore your Moneydance data folder (or a specific data set, if you've selected one) to the state it was in at the time the backup was made.
