Install MS Money (.mbf) files
Can I install all my earlier finance files from the software that I've been using to date, MS Money? The backup files I have are .mbf format.
Thanks.

Moneydance cannot open .mbf files directly. You first need to open your data with MS Money and export each of your accounts to QIF files. The QIF files can then be imported into Moneydance.

Oh dear...Money has died so I can't do that, all I have is the .mbf
backup...is there another way of converting the files maybe?

I am sorry to say I don't know of any way of converting .mbf files.

Hi Neil,
There is a free version of Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe available from Microsoft.
Do a Google / Bing search for 'microsoft money plus sunset' for a link to the download site.

Thanks for your help Kevin, I found that and am downloading it already,
hopefully that will work and enable me to switch to Moneydance. I'm
finding that Money doesn't work after changing to Windows 10 so will run
it on an earlier pc to get the files off.

Kevin,
One last question, Money has installed and when I go to export the file
it gives me two options, Loose QIF and Strict QIF - which is best for
Moneydance?
many thanks.

You should choose loose.
