I run the Python Scrypt MD 2017_... this has not worked

Mark Siefftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-16T20:19:30Z2019-01-16T20:19:30ZSync

I'm a fellow user.

Did running the script given an error ? If so what is the error. What did it do, i.e. what have you checked to come to the conclusion that it has not worked?

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-16T21:11:22Z2019-01-16T21:11:23ZSync

I get an error message when i run the script,

Mark Siefftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-19T10:11:04Z2019-01-19T10:11:04ZSync

Am I to assume that this cannot be resolved?

Mark Siefftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-19T10:14:56Z2019-01-19T10:14:56ZSync

You can only assume that your fellow users cannot resolve it. It may well need a revised script for MD2019, which would take support/developer involvement.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-19T10:29:14Z2019-01-19T10:29:14ZSync

Thank you for your interest.

BTW I did re download 2017, but got the same error message, I found the original primary data set but it is over three months old. Tried various hit and miss solutions but was not able to sync the files (probably too many deletions and renaming.)

Today I have an up to date secondary set (with bank account changes and investments (multi currency)) that I cannot sync and a seriously out of date primary set that would be very time consuming to bring up to date.

My OS is WINDOWS

marksiefftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-23T15:50:32Z2019-01-23T15:50:32ZSync

I am not support staff, just a user.

I noticed another user with the same issue as you and took the time to have a conversation with Sean the Moneydance software developer.

He thinks the script should still work. So as we were talking I did a backup of my secondary data set then restored from backup so I could run the script on it.
The script converted the secondary to a master data set. The grayed out don't sync from my restored backup was active again and I could change syncing method.

When I showed him the error message you got his comments were:

"hmm... I think there are two possibilities with this one: 1) They are running the script directly in python rather than in Moneydance's python/moneybot console, or 2) they somehow do not have a file open in moneydance when they are running it.

(maybe there are other possibilities, but there's a 99% change it's one of these... I'm guessing #1 because the screenshot didn't say explicitly that it was MD running the script)"

Knowing the above can you try again in 2019.

With your data set open click WINDOW - SHOW MONEYBOT CONSOLE use OPEN SCRIPT to select the script and click RUN. Close and reopen Moneydance.
Message after run should look like attached.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-23T15:55:30Z2019-01-23T15:55:31ZSync

Sorry same guy, i think this conversation was in the wrong section so I restarted it

Mark Siefftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/468139972019-01-23T17:47:12Z2019-01-23T17:47:12ZSync

I am not support staff, just a user.
