Moneydance has an internal syncing engine. Add a transaction or make other changes on one computer and within a minute it will appear on the other. Or if the other computer is not running Moneydance it will update when Moneydance is opened on that computer. You can in fact sync more than two computers as well as syncing to mobile devices such as phones, Android and iOS.
There are two methods of syncing that can sync between computers and mobile devices, Dropbox Folder, the method I prefer and Dropbox Connection. As the name infers you need at least a free Dropbox cloud server account. The third method is called Shared Folder, but this method can only sync between computers. Shared Folder can use other cloud server providers, but not all cloud servers are equal and some don’t work well.
Syncing will also work between computers having different operating systems, Windows, Mac and Linux.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/477480352019-10-20T07:20:11Z2019-10-20T07:20:11ZSHARED DATA FILES

Hi Dave,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program. You can download the trial version of Moneydance from our website on this page.

The trial version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test downloading data from your bank, and importing data from other personal finance software.
If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all data you have entered during the trial period.

You can find the Moneydance knowledge base here which will be useful if you're using the program for the first time. I'd be happy to provide guidance if you have any questions or need assistance getting setup.

You should ensure you're running the same version and build of Moneydance on any computers you want to sync with.
To check which version you're using, open Moneydance and select Help --> About Moneydance (or Moneydance --> About Moneydance on a Mac) where the version and build number will be displayed.

Open Moneydance to access the file you'd like to share. Choose File --> Syncing. In this window you should pick a sync method.

If you have the Dropbox client installed on your computer (in the default location) you'll see the 'Dropbox Folder' sync method.
If you choose the 'Dropbox Connection' sync method, you'll be prompted to visit the Dropbox site and retrieve an authorisation code that you can enter into Moneydance.
If you want to use a shared folder service other than Dropbox, choose the 'Shared Folder' sync method and navigate to the shared folder you prefer to use.

You should also create and enter a syncing encryption password if you haven't already.

On the other computer, open Moneydance and choose File --> New (or 'Create a new account set' from the Welcome window). Select 'Open Synced File'. Choose the same sync method as the original computer and authorise if required. Select your data file, and enter the sync encryption password to match the original computer.

The steps to sync with another computer are also outlined in this article from the knowledge base.

By following these steps, each computer will have it's own copy of your data file, and also backup files. Any changes are shared with the other computer using the sync files within the shared folder you picked. If you enter a test transaction on either computer, you'll see it appear on the other after a few moments.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
