There is also a Moneydance folder in my Dropbox folder but my files are not saving there when I close. I cannot find how to specify where the file is saved. Under Preferences I can only specify where to save the backup

davidvernonlongtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482514552020-04-18T21:08:09Z2020-04-18T21:08:09Zsyncing on 2nd machine which has restored a backup

I'm a fellow user.

When you convert a secondary machine to a primary and then set up syncing you are creating a new syncing relationship, it does not and cannot being involved with the original process. To have the third machine syncing with the second you have to added is to this new syncing relationship using the instructions for secondary machines in the article:

https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data/sync...

Similarly for the mobile app you have to create a new syncing relationship :

https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data/sync...

The original syncing relationship is effectively dead and when yo do regain access to the first machine you will need to add it to this new syncing relationship.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482514552020-04-20T08:50:07Z2020-04-20T08:50:08Zsyncing on 2nd machine which has restored a backup

Thanks. On the machine which has now become the primary one for Moneydance has now 2 sets of files. Those on Dropbox due to the previous syncing relationship and those on a local folder of the now primary machine having ran the convert secondary to master pyi utility.

Should I now remove the folder on Dropbox created from the old syncing relations, to make way for the new syncing relationship which I shall create following the links dwg sent me?

davidvernonlongtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482514552020-04-24T12:23:13Z2020-04-24T12:23:14Zsyncing on 2nd machine which has restored a backup

I removed the Dropbox folder from previous sync relations and created new sync as per dwg, and worked perfectly. So for me this discussion closed

davidvernonlong
