Android dropbox sync stopped working
Hi team,
Been reading through a lot of threads lately regarding the Android phone app no longer synching. I am also included in that group. I've been using MD since about 2018 and every now and then I seem to get a synching issue, but eventually I have figured it out and all is good. I would say 85% of the reason I use MD is because I can use the application is to record retail transactions to see where my accounts are when on the go. But on Jan 26, like most in other threads, mine also stopped synching. I have tried about everything in the previous threads and so far no luck. I finally broke down today and uninstalled everything MD on my phones and laptop, including deleting the synch file in Dropbox. Unfortunately, I still can't get it to work. Here's a detailed list of everything I tried:
- Deleted app data from android phones
- Uninstalled app from android phones
- Uninstalled MD from laptop
- Noticed after uninstall from laptop there was a lot temp files remaining - deleted all of those
- Deleted sync folder in Dropbox
- Tried both Folder and Connect synching methods
A couple of odd things when doing this, every time I reinstalled my android app, it pulled up the data from Jan 26 when everything stopped synching. I have no idea where this is coming from as far as I know I have deleted every MD cache and file that I could think of from my phone, laptop and Dropbox. It was as if my MD Android app was stuck on Jan 26 and would never update pass that. After seeing this, I would go to my Android app settings and clear the data. When I log back in my app, which takes me to the Dropbox link page. However, every time I try to set this up, it tells me there are no files found. However, I do see the recent file in my Dropbox folder. I have also made sure that am logged in with the same account on the laptop, Dropbox, and Android, I'm just not sure why it's not finding my Dropbox file.
Any thoughts?

I did the instructions given in post 35 & 40 such as the Tool Box synch push and updated my Mobile App to version 2026. After doing this, the MD Android app was able to see the Dropbox folder and appears to be working now.
It did take a bit to figure out how to get to the beta version though which was done on my phone by Settings - App - MoneyDance - Open (bottom of screen) - Google Play (which now offered an update).
Can't wait for this to go to prod. Also the search feature in the new mobile app - THANK YOU!
