To run a budget report, go to Tools --> Graphs and Reports. You can then select 'Budget' report, and enter the desired options, date span, subtotaling preferences etc. Then select "Generate". The resulting report has a number of command buttons at the bottom, including Print and Save. If saving, you will see the 'export options' window, and can choose the format you'd like to use when saving.

I hope this information is helpful, please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Personally, I have been using Moneydance for a couple of years and it works fine for me as a personal financial tool.

What I am trying to do is use Moneydance to support a small non-profit group. Largely speaking it works fine.

Small organizations need a viable budget with planned out expenses which are clearly approved prior to the actual expenditure.

What I was looking for is to copy the month to month budget and print it in spreadsheet form, (like an Excel Spreadsheet) If I can export the budget to Excel, I can customize it to fit.

My objective is for the various officers of the organization to be able to see and plan for the coming months.

Gives them an opportunity to mark it up and then work with it, hence my question.

Lacking this, my only choice is to manually copy and past into an Excel Spreadsheet and build it a working budget from there.

Moneydance is intended primarily for personal finance management, so it often does not have the features that people need for businesses or organisations. However, if your finances are relatively simple, you may be able to use Moneydance's features for most of the organisations financial needs.

Regarding the budget however, I think exporting the data to Excel may be the best method for you. I understand this is not ideal, but this will allow you to further manipulate the budget data in much greater detail than you can within Moneydance. You could save the Budget report in the Tab delimited or Comma delimited format, for use in Excel or other spreadsheet software. This should at least give you a basis for the Excel document and should mean you don't have to transfer all data.

Regarding the planning of your expenses for the coming months, do you use any Moneydance extensions? You can find details for downloading and using extensions in this article.
The 'Balance Predictor' extension will allow you to calculate and graph the future balance of an account based on past transactions and scheduled reminders. The 'Money Foresight' extension also lets you forecast your future account balances and review your past spending.

Is there are another way to get these extensions?

You can manually download the extensions here
Click on 'Download' for the appropriate extension and then open Moneydance.

Drag the downloaded file, which will have the extension .mxt onto the Moneydance program window. The 'Add Extension' window will appear, and you should select 'Install Extension'.

The extension will then be available under the Extensions menu.

I hope this helps.
