I am considering purchasing this software and was working with the budgeted amounts (prior to entering the actual amounts) and noticed that I can't enter data (budget or actual) prior to the date I downloaded the software. Will this same problem exist once I purchase the actal software??????????

There is no issue with having actual transactions dated before the date of software purchase, I have some investment transactions dated 30 years before I started with Moneydance, all the data I migrated from Quicken/Reckon were dated earlier (1000's of transactions)

Using Moneydance in trial mode has no effect on this, I migrated all of my data while still in trial mode.
