<p>I think a 'Mixed Interval' budget may better suit your needs. You can read about both the budget formats in <a href="http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/program-basics/creating-a-budget-mixed-interval-new-format">this article</a>.</p>
<p>Go to Tools —> Budget Manager, and select ‘New’. Then enter the budget name and select the ‘period’ as 'Mixed Interval'.<br>
This budget will allow you to budget categories for different time periods. You can also leave the 'end date' as empty which will allow the budget to continue indefinitely, so you wont have to keep copying your data each month.</p>
<p>Once created select the budget in the left sidebar, and you'll see an 'Edit' button at the top right of the register. Within the 'Edit Budget' window you can select the '+' button to add categories to your budget. You can find a screenshot of the 'Edit Budget' window and details of each item field in the article I have linked above.</p>
