Issue with Budget Generator Extension 'Generate' function
Hi
First, apologies for posting this on here, as I know Mike Bray has said its best to create a 'BitBudget' account and post queries there on his extensions. I'm sorry if this sounds silly, but I don't know how where to go create a BitBudget account (I've googled it, and looked on Mike Bray's website ??)
I am trying to use Budget Generator, which looks great to me as I'm unable to enter budgets in MD (see my previous thread for the problem). It all goes well, until I click 'Generate' and then nothing happens; I cannot get the next screen to come up.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
Unless I can either get MD new style budgeting working, or get the extension to work, then my only option is to create an old style budget in MD (which would take me quite a while...so I'd prefer not to).
Many Thanks !
TJ

Hi TJ,
I am surprised that Mike has not responded by now. He might be on vacation.
To create a Bitbucket Account, go to his Bitbucket page here: https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2015/wiki/Extensions
At the top, you should see a Blue Title Bar. On the right side, you should see the Words Sign up. Click on that wording, and you will be sent to a screen where you can enter all information asked of you. You may even utilized your Google Account; if you nave one.
Once you have Sign up, be sure to arrive at this page;https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2015/issues
There your can create an issue (upper right hand corner) so that Mike may view and respond to your issue.
Currently, I find no problem in generating from his Budget Generator Screen/Window. I am using MD 2015.4, Build 1220 which is the current stable production build.
Mike does have two versions of his Extensions - one for MD2014 and one for MD2015.

Folks,
I just became aware that Mike has updated three of his Extensions for MD2015. They are: 1. Budget Reporter - 6/13/2015 (13/6/2015), 2. Budget Generator - 6/13/2015 (13/6/2015), and 3. File Display - 6/13/2015 (13/6/2015).
Mike gives a brief Update History of his Extensions and a Link to the Download Site (MD2015) here: https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2015/wiki/Extensions
I guess that I have been asleep! (LOL)

Hi Jerry and Mike,
Thank you for the very helpful replies. I will post the errlog file now on bitbucket.
By the way I am using build 2015.5 (1225). I had no idea that isn't a stable version (is it a beta?) I had to recently re-instal moneydance after refreshing windows, and this was the version that installed.
If 2015.4 is more stable then I'd like to revert to that - though I'm not sure how or whether MD could go back to an older version?
I think I probably have the latest version of Bud Gen as I intalled it just over a week ago.

Hi TJ,
My mistake. Thanks for reminding me that there is a newer stable production build - MD2015.5 (1225). I just downloaded it. So you do have the latest production build.
Ever since MD2015 came out, IK has produced Preview Builds to primarily fix bugs that IK and users have found since the original build.
If you would like to review the preview builds, you can follow the progression of Builds here: http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2015/moneydance-2015-pre...
Thanks.
Jerry
