I have found that whilst the reporting categorises in accord with the built in categories, it is double counting some items.

For example: I have observed that for the primary category "Personal" , which has a number of subcategories such as "Books/Magazines" and one I added called "Groceries" some transactions in the graphical report are summed in both the primary category "Personal" as well as the subcategory "Groceries" . This is despite the fact that the actual transaction is allocated to "Personal/Groceries" . Yet that transaction is also listed in this graphical repoort in the primary category "Personal" .

This apparent fault also seems to be in the 'graphs and reports" as well.

Anyone have a fix for this please?

Answer:
When the graph shows the Primary Category total it only adds up the transactions which are allocated to the primary category, but in the shown associated transaction DATA it also shows the transactions in the subcategories, but without adding them.

However when you look at the subcategories graph the associated transaction DATA shown is only the transactions in that subcategory.

ianruth
