Isn't that what a budget does. You set aside amounts to spend in a category and compare them with the actual spending. MD does all that. So I must be missing the point of your question.

mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494172532021-12-30T01:30:38Z2021-12-30T01:30:43ZActual vs. budgetedspending

I guess I am missing, why you don't understand the question. The OP was actually wanting the instructions to how MD does that. For a new user it is not intuitive.

simplysoldierontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494172532021-12-30T01:49:20Z2021-12-30T01:49:20ZActual vs. budgetedspending

just a user,

I guess I'm confused as to why the question was being asked. A budget has no value unless you can compare the budget with actual expenses, so any program that supports budgeting would also provide ways of comparing with actual expenses. MD has multiple ways of looking at that comparison. Reports, status bars, etc. If the user is new, there is a wealth of budget setup info in the online knowledge base and if they have never used MD, a free trial version is available.

mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494172532021-12-30T02:04:21Z2021-12-30T02:04:23ZActual vs. budgetedspending

So maybe an idea would be, if you don't understand the question -- let someone who does answer and don't insult the OP? We don't know what they have or have not already looked up. You could have guided them to the help section instead of being harsh. Maybe this forum was their last effort to gain assistance and you made sure they wouldn't come back.

simplysoldierontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494172532021-12-30T02:12:40Z2021-12-30T02:12:40ZActual vs. budgetedspending

just a user,

you sure have a interesting definition of harsh. It was not an meant as an insult or put down. I was just asking for more information so I could help him find what he needed. That's all

mhoggie
