Report by Category group

Hi,

I would like to generate a report only with the budget category totals. I do not want individual items - only the overall categories. Is there a way to accomplish this? (Either using Budget report or Income vs Expenses report)?

   The regular budget report does that if I understand your question.

   If I remove all the individual sub category items, I do not get the totals. Seems like total is calculated based on the sub categories.

   If you check the box "Subtotal Categories in Report" then the report will show the grand totals of each group.

   Yes - but I want only the Subtotals without the line items. Is that possible?

   I don't think you can produce a report in MD with subtotals only.

   But you can format any report to your pleasure just by saving the report as Tab Delimited (will save as a text file), then open that text file with a spreadsheet program. Then you can clean out all the info you don't want to see and format as needed.
