Then
click on Done to exit the Budget Manager, and the budget you
created should be visible in your left sidebar just under your
accounts. You should then be able to directly enter in your budgets
in the display, or if you have made a mixed-interval budget, you
can click on the edit button in the upper left of that window.</p>

<p>It looks like you've set this up this budget with a different
interval than mixed intervals. Go back to Tools -> Budget
Manager from the menu bar, click new to create a new budget, and be
sure to choose Mixed Intervals in the Period field in this window.
You should then be able to click on this new budget in the left
sidebar, and you should see an Edit button in the upper right of
the display, just to the left of the Budget Manager button.</p>
<p>If that still doesn't work, can you please go to Help ->
Console Window, look at the first line of the output, and tell me
the exact version of Moneydance you are using?</p>

I think I may have hacked it but the help file does not say that
you<br>
should select mixed intervals to be able to edit the budget. That
is<br>
why, although I have used the programme for many years I have never
been<br>
able to produce a budget that I can edit. The help information
gives the<br>
impression that if you create a budget it will be editable.<br>
One more point. I wish that a more positive click was necessary to
mark<br>
an item on the reconcile screen. It is very easy to clear an item
by<br>
having the cursor hover over it.<br>

Is it possible to delete zero items when editing the budget?</p></div>John Kenton-Pagetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/389202752016-01-14T17:23:48Z2016-01-14T17:23:48ZSetting up a budget<div><p>Hello John,</p>
<p>I'm glad to hear things have been sorted out. Can you please
tell me where you found those instructions? They don't seem to
exactly correspond to what I've found in the latest version of the
user guide or on our website. Can you either provide a link to the
page you found that, or the page number of the user guide that you
are using? I'd like to make sure the instructions are updated so
that they are more clear.</p>
<p>Also, could you please clarify what you mean by "a more positive
click" for the reconcile screen? Items definitely shouldn't be
clearing just by hovering one's cursor over it.</p>

'on-line support'.<br>
I then searched for 'setting up a budget" and the attached page
appeared.<br>
I had my doubts about it as it was dated February 2010.<br>
Regarding the reconcile issue, on several occasions I have had to
start<br>
again because the hovering pointer rested on a check box. I now
move the<br>
pointer away from the check boxes until I need one and then I
"approach"<br>
it from the side.<br>
