Would you mind explaining a bit further, what it is you're
trying to do with the budget? You can create a new category within
Tools --> Categories, and could name this as 'Hide from budget'
for example. However, I'm not sure this suits your needs as I need
you to clarify the information you require. Could you send me an
example of a transaction as you have described, and the budget
category, with details of what you'd like to achieve? Sorry for the
confusion.

On the summary page, you'll see a 'settings' button at the top
right of the 'Budget bars' module. From there, you can select the
relevant budget, categories, and other settings. Then, once
amended, return to the summary screen, where you can right click
the relavent budget bars and select 'move up/down' from the menu
that appears to re-order them.

need to select showing Budgeted from the top. That would exclude
any that I did not enter a budget for.

I see how you have to select a budget bar and right mouse click
to move up or down. This is really clumsy. It would be great to be
able to just drag and drop or better yet be able to sort.

Can I put in a development request that would allow us within
the budget screen just be able to click on a category actual in a
month and have a pop up with the transaction for that category for
that month. Could an option be available at the top for Not
Budgeted. That would allow us to quickly see if we have some mis
categorized transactions.

misc2tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/395585492016-04-05T15:12:15Z2016-04-05T15:12:15ZNew budget category, summary page questions

On the Expense window of the summary page, is there a way to
have it display expenses that have negative values. I am really
trying to figure how MoneyDance allows me to analyze my budget and
drill down to transactions easily to update transactions in case of
miscategorization. I am thinking I can only do this through the
Expense window, but what happens if a transaction get
miscategorized and causes an expense category to go negative. I
don't have visibility to it there.
Also, under the Expense windows, if I expand out a category and
then click on a transaction to bring up the detail, is there a way
to go back, like a back button. It seams like I have to go back to
the summary screen and start over.
Thanks

misc2tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/395585492016-04-06T13:26:22Z2016-04-06T13:26:22ZNew budget category, summary page questions

Hi,

Many of your suggestions already have tickets created in our
system, so I've attached the tickets to this discussion.
Specifically, the ability to reorder budget bars with drag and
drop, and the ability to view transaction details directly from the
budget view. I will pass your feedback to the developers, and we'll
notify you of any updates within this thread.

Regarding your suggestion for the 'Not in Budget' filter - where
would you like to see this feature included? If you can provide
details of how this feature will be useful for you, I can pass this
to the development team.

Moving onto your second post, I believe we have a ticket for the
feature you require in our system. If I am understanding correctly,
you would like to see all expenses/income shown in this bar, not
just budgeted amounts. If this is what you're looking for, let me
know and I'll attach the relevant ticket. If not, can you provide a
bit more information about what it is you require. Sorry for the
confusion.

Unfortunately, there is no way to return to the summary screen
after selecting a transaction in the way described, without
starting over.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you
have further questions or if I can be of assistance.

I don't see the attached tickets.

As far as "not in Budget Filter". If I click on a budget I
created, it lists three months usually current month, previous and
next month. In the upper right hand corner, there is an All,
Budgeted, Active filter and to the right of that is a button Budget
Manager. I would like to have a fourth filter in addition to All,
Budgeted, Active filter that is "Not in Budget" that will show me
all the categories that have transaction and have I have not
created a budget for them. Also, on this budget screen when you
select Budget, Active or the new one "Not in Budget" if you add it,
the totals at the top per month for Income and Expense should only
show for those in the filter. The income and expense totals always
show for All.

As far as my second post. In the Expenses Graph, if I have a
item budgeted say $100 this month and had $20 posted, then $20
more, but then accidentally posted a 100 deposit to that expense
item, the net becomes -$60. That category no longer shows up in the
Expenses Graph. I would still like it to be there.

Thanks.

misc2
