Decimal values
Hi,
I'd like to be able to budget to decimal values but the Budget Manager screens rounds everything to whole numbers. Is this configurable?
Thanks,
JC

Hi JC,
Can you let me know which budget format you're using? Within Moneydance, you can select either the 'Newer' budget format, or the older 'Mixed Interval' format. I'd recommend setting up a Mixed Interval budget, which will allow you to specify cents and will not round to the nearest whole number. You'll find instructions in this article that details setting up a Mixed Interval budget which should allow you to access the functionality you need.

Hi Jenny,
I'm currently using the Newer budget format. Is it possible to convert from
one format to another or do i need to recreate? Will there be an updated to
remove the rounding in the budget screen?
Thanks,

Hi John,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay getting back to you. I’m afraid that your last reply was missed by the support team, and it’s only now we’ve been able to work through the backlog of older discussions.
With the 'Newer' format budget, the entire amount is still stored, and can be seen by double clicking on the entered amount. It's just not displayed in an effort to keep the interface clearer.
The new format is a different way of looking at the budgets. It is simpler overall, and meant to provide the kind of interface that YNAB has; many of our customers prefer this to the older but more flexible system.
If you'd prefer to see the entire figure, I'd recommend using the 'Mixed Interval' budget format. You can read about both budget types in this article.
Please accept my apologies again for the delayed response.
