I've been a very happy user of Moneydance for many years now, however, there is one aspect of moneydance which, if the authors choose to do something about, I for one, would be eternally grateful for. I have great difficulty each year working out how to set a new budget for the coming financial year without risking being certified nuts because the process is not obvious and not intuitive, I'm about to start this year's budget creation for the year 16/17, so if there is anyone out there who can help me, I'd love to hear from you.
Cheers, Vik.

I look at my monthly budget and copy it across the next 12 months. I then add and modify for irregular payments eg annual insurances and monthly annual payments that are charged over 10 months.

    G'day johnmdear,

Thanks for your response to my query. I have no problems getting to
stage of having a new budget calculated using my 'last years' actual
income and expenses transferred into this year's budget, but my problem
lies in getting to the editing stage of the raw figures. It always seems
to take me ages to find the correct steps to get to the editing screen.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Vik.

I just change each one manually to allow for the monthly fluctuations .I've only been using MD for a few weeks but it seems to work.

The new-style budget only works for what MD considers expenses.

You can't budget for items like a mortgage, savings or car payments, student loans. At the end of the month it looks like you have a lot of $money left over on your budget since you record all income, just not all the output.

The old-style budget assumes you budget the same amount each month for everything. My cost for natural gas, electric, fuel, groceries and other categories vary each month.

Too bad, this would be a great product otherwise.
