more severe. Not being able to remove categories from my budget is
throwing off my budget reporting. For example I have several "auto"
categories like "auto:depreciation" and "auto:fuel". I don't want
to track "auto:depreciation" in my budget so that category isn't in
my budget (thankfully I've never added it otherwise I wouldn't be
able to remove it). However I do have the parent "auto" category in
my budget. Since I never assign any expenses directly to the parent
auto category I don't want it in my budget. Unfortunately because
of this bug I'm unable to remove it.

I can edit it though, so my workaround is to set the "auto"
category to 0. This seems to work fine except the auto category
shows up as a separate line item when I run a budget report. This
wouldn't bother me too much, but in the budget report (and only in
the report) my auto:depreciation expense is allocated to the parent
auto category! I.e. I had an expense for $500 in auto:depreciation.
This shouldn't show up on my budget report, but it actually does in
the auto category.

I keep finding strange non-obvious bugs with the budgeting
system. I'm beginning to wonder if I can trust anything it tells
me. It's very time consuming to double check all of Moneydance's
budget work.

Jim
