I want to create a budget based on a previous period. But when I go to: Tools/Budget manager/new: I get a box which only allows me to choose anew budget, but doesn't show me a box which should say 'calculate'. can you advise?

    Hi Bob,

I'd recommend having a look through this article which details setting up a budget.

There are two budget formats available within Moneydance - the Newer format, and the Older 'Mixed Interval' format.
Selecting either Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly or Annually will create budget using this time period, and the 'Newer' budget format.
Selecting Mixed Interval will create an 'Older' style budget, which can have categories with different time intervals.

Once you have created your budget, you have to close the budget manager window, then select your budget from the left sidebar column in the Moneydance window to access and edit it. You can view screenshots of each budget type in the article I have linked above.
