Discover Card Duplicates. They're Back!
Discover Card duplicates are back. Hoped it was just a single anomaly, but I'm getting duplicates on every download.
Here is the info on my installation: Moneydance 2010r2 (743), OS: Linux 2.6.31-19-generic i386, Java: 1.6.0_0 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)

I too have duplicates. Actually, they never disappeared for me. I have used every version and currently use 743.
It has greatly improved from a few months ago but I still get duplicates on the last 3-4 days of transactions.
Still a bother but not a show stopper.

I got one again the other day.
I have a question: Does it seem to happen more often around your monthly closing date? Or around the time you make your monthly payment? Like a few days before or a few days after?
That seems to be the pattern for me. It is greatly improved, but not gone entirely.

Only pattern is that when I use the card I get duplicates for several days. Doesn't seem to be on a monthly pattern....

No clear pattern that I can detect. I get duplicates every day.
This morning I have new duplicates for
Mar 3 (2 of 4 transaction are repeated)
Mar 4 (2 of 2 transaction are repeated)
Mar 5 (2 of 4 transactions are repeated)
Mar 6 are my newest transactions
I will reiterate that this is greatly improved from several weeks back when I had this pattern of repeats going back 2-3 weeks.

Ditto. On Discover... using 2010r2 (743), I regularly have to deal with downloads that were previously downloaded and acknowledged. It happens almost daily.

My experience is similar to others. Behavior is much improved, but I still typically get a couple of duplicates with each download.

lastest update from me
I didn't get to confirming my downloaded transactions for about a week. Normally I do it every few days. I thought maybe with this bigger sample I would detect some pattern.
I had 29 new unique transactions to confirm. (75 total transactions)
8 transactions had no repeats
6 had 1 repeat
6 had 2 repeats
8 had 3 repeats
1 had 4 repeats
I still see no pattern.

Hi all,
We're continuing to work on this problem, but it's certainly still not fixed I'm sorry to say. I'll remind our head developer to look into it again. I'm sorry it's taking so long for us to resolve this issue, we do recognize this is a serious problem for some of our users.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

Using Build 748 I am still betting duplicates. Typically on the order of 1-2 duplicates for 6-10 new transactions.

The developers are still working on this. The problem lies in Discover assigning different id's to the same transaction which causes Moneydance to see that each id as a separate transaction.

Not to pressure the developers at all, but has a fix been implemented for this? I'm still getting 6-7 repeated transactions a day on my Discover account.

Yeah... It seems like there are all kinds of minutia being addressed, and as a product manager, to me, this would be embarrassing. No other financial package that I've used has a problem with Discover.

Sorry to say it again, but we are still working on getting a fix for this. Discover has thus far been unwilling to start using the protocol correctly so we are having to work on a systemic deep-structure fix to redesign how Moneydance deals with downloaded transactions in order to accomadate this irregularity.
I realize that this is frustrating for a number of you and I appreciate your patience on this manner.
Please feel free to contact me if their is anything further I can do for you: [email blocked]

Is there any resolution to this problem yet? I just spent 2 hours going through my register to find 3 duplicate transactions. Since discover is my primary card, I don't want to have to manually search for duplicates each time I download.
I use Moneydance to save time, not waste it. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to switch programs.

Test0001,
I wish I had a resolution to this issue, but while we recognize this is a serious issue it's also one with is quite challenging to resolve. If and when we have additional data we will post on this forum thread with more information. I am sorry for the frustrating experience you have had, and I hope I can give you and the other Discover card users better news someday soon.

Any progress on this? Sometimes it works for a few transactions, then more duplicates.

Mondan,
Sadly, no. We are still working on the issue, but the fact that the info is coming from Discover's side makes it harder to resolve. As always, we'll post when we have more information. We do recognize this is frustrating, and I wish I had better news.
