I imported a bank account from quicken and tried to setup direct connect with etrade financial. I get an error message about incorrect password. Does the "etrade financial" setup work with e*trade bank accounts? Quicken was downloading transactions from this bank account with the same username/password that I am trying in MD (build 731).

In my experience, I can download from ETrade brokerage accounts, but NOT from ETrade bank accounts.

I'm not really sure why, but when I asked E*Trade support earlier in the year, they said the kind of connection I needed wasn't available for bank accounts.

To my knowledge, Quicken is able to access the accounts using one of the screen-scraping work arounds some of the banks allow instead of offering real direct connect support.

Thanks for your reply. I'm surprised that quicken screen-scrapes instead of insisting on a proper API. Presumably Intuit has a lot of clout here and wouldn't want to screen scrape.
