<p>You've hit upon a small bug in Moneydance. The error window you
received is too small to show the full error message, but it's not
immediately obvious that there's more to the message. Please click
and drag the lower right hand corner of the message window to
expand the window, and then copy and paste the full error message
here.</p>
<p>Sorry for the inconvenience! We're working on a fix for this so
that in the future it will be clear that the error message
continues past "Bank Name."</p>

<p>Most financial institutions will require you to enable your
accounts for application-based online banking. I'm afraid it is
usually more productive to lie and tell your bank that you are
using Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server
connection protocol as Quicken but you bank representative many not
know this and mistakenly believe that they do not support
Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the
following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on
my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with
Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect
Quicken to this service."</p>
<p>Application-based online banking often requires a different
login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking.
When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken,
your financial institution should let you know what customer
ID/login and PIN to use.</p>
<p>If this does not work, please let me know and we will look into
other solutions.<br>
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you
for your interest in Moneydance!</p>

accounts or if they are different) is enabled via the logging into
your account via the web site (although I suppose customer service
can do it as well). I posted how to do this in this <a href=

thread</a>.</p></div>Anthonytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/9178762010-01-30T08:19:40Z2010-01-30T08:19:42Zchase <div><p>Chase is interesting. They support "direct connect" of Credit
Cards for free - only if you have a Credit Card relationship with
them. You must enable the accounts on their website.</p>
<p>If you have a checking account, "direct connect" is still
supported, but you must pay $9.95 / mo fee for this. When my
Washington Mutual account migrated to Chase's online banking, I
lost the "direct connect" functionality. I am currently using
Quicken (and testing MD 2010), so I am able to automatically use
Quicken's "Express Web Connect" functionality to receive automatic
downloads. However in MD, I will need to manually download and
import these accounts.</p>
