<p>Thank you. I see that it is in the drop down list of Financial
Institutions. When I attempt to set-up my checking account, I get
the following error: "The given Customer ID or PIN is invalid. For
more information, contact your Financial Institution. Error from
server: Signon Invalid"</p>
<p>I remembered there was some unusual steps in getting this set-up
in Quicken (I use 2010 Deluxe) - so I deactivated my access and
then proceeded to reactivate my accounts. Here is the steps I
took:</p>
<p>Tell Quicken I wanted to download transactions. Quicken connects
to Chevron FCU by using the same ID and Password that I provided
MoneyDance. Quicken then prompts me to answer an additional
question (like my High School Mascot). I am then authenticated and
Quicken then provides me with a list of Accounts I can match
(basically all of my Credit Union Accounts: Checking, Money Market
Checking, Savings and Line of Credit (set up as a Credit Card). I
make the association and then Quicken sets up my Accounts and
download transactions. I then looked at my set-up and my Accounts
were set-up as Express Web Connect which is an Quicken automated
Web Connect download. However, Quicken has a button in the set-up
window indicating "there is a better way to update" and I click on
that and my Accounts are now set-up for Direct Connect - still
using the same ID and Password that I provided to MoneyDance.</p>
<p>So without any additional information in what MoneyDance is
seeing, I am thinking that my set-up could be failing because I
don't see the additional question or possibly because it will
attempt to set me up using a Web Connect - which needs to be
skipped and go directly to Direct Connect.</p>
<p>If I approach my Credit Union, I am not certain what questions I
need to be asking them. Your help would be greatly appreciated.</p>
<p>BTW, I have purchased a license for the product on Monday. As a
separate note, my Schwab Bank manual connection is still working
for Checking, but it will not setup my Savings Account (same
behavior in Quicken).</p></div>Anthony J. Gladsontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/9380792010-02-03T14:32:41Z2010-02-03T14:32:41ZChevron Federal Credit Union <div><p>Anthony,</p>
<p>You're on the right track! Quicken and Money support two methods
of accessing your accounts: direct connect and web connect. With
web connect, they basically connect to your bank's website and
download and import OFX files. Direct connect actually connects to
a server at your bank instead of their website and usually requires
different login credentials than you would use to log into your
banks website.<br></p>
<p>Most financial institutions will require you to enable your
accounts for application-based banking. I'm afraid it is usually
more productive to lie and tell your bank that you are using
Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection
protocol as Quicken but you bank representative many not know this
and mistakenly believe that they do not support Moneydance. Calling
up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you
started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I
can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the
login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."</p>
<p>Application-based online banking often requires a different
login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking.
When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken,
your financial institution should let you know what customer
ID/login and PIN to use.</p>
<p>Schwab and Quicken are apparently having some sort of scuffle at
the moment, it will be a bit longer until the connection issue with
Schwab bank is resolved. For now, the manual connection is the best
we can do.</p>
<p>Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and let me
know if you are able to connect with Chevron. Best of luck!</p>

<p>I didn't need to contact CFCU. I remembered when they first
started Direct Connect I was sent to a Website (by Quicken) where I
created and Password. The Password on this was recommended not to
be the one you use to log into their Online Banking or your ATM
Pin. It was just a matter of going through my "ususal" set of
passwords. I finally entered the right one. The connection works -
I have a Checking, Savings and their MarketEdge Checking products
set-up. I am having a little problem with the Line of Credit. The
issue is it does not like being a Credit Card or a Bank Account
types. As its only purpose is Overdraft Protection for my Checking
- and I never have had any transactions, nor will I have a high
volume of transactions, I am not concerned.<br></p>
<p>I am very happy at the speed that your responded to this request
and I thank everyone who worked on this request.</p>
