We've updated our connection information for American Express,
so you should be able to connect now. You will need to disable your
current connection to your bank and then recreate it using the New
Connection button on the Online Banking Setup screen. To do so, you
can follow these steps:

1) Select your credit card account in Moneydance
2) Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu
3) Click the "Disable" button. If you don't see a disable button,
continue to step 5.
4) Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu
(again)
5) Click the "New Connection" button and select your bank and hit
OK
6) Continue with the setup process, entering your
username/password
7) Repeat steps 1-6 for any additional accounts

Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is
still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing
your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to
download the updated information, which should then allow you to
connect.

Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems
after recreating your connection.

won't let me go any further.

So we've tested this again, and here is what we suggest
1) Make sure you are using version 743
2) Make sure you are selecting the "New Connection" button
3) Wait for the next button to become usable (Moneydance needs to
communicate with the server). On a very fast connection this took
about 10 seconds for me. It could take 30-90 seconds if you are on
a slower connection.

Please let me know how this goes, and if it continues being
problematic we'll look into other options.

I tried your most recent suggestions, but no luck. Same problem as
I posted earlier.

Some comments:
1) When I select "Online....|Setup Online Banking...." I get a
window that displays 'Financial Institution' and has a 'New
Connection' button. Per your step #2 above, I am indeed pressing the "New
Connection" button. However, one thing I noticed is American
Express is in the list of Financial Institutions if I press the
drop-down arrow on this page. Does this need to be cleared in some
way?
2) per your step #3 above, I really don't see any wait at
all; my 'next' button seems to be usable immediately. I tried
waiting 15 seconds anyway but it didn't make a difference.

LarryCLtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12207712010-03-29T15:04:04Z2010-03-29T15:04:08ZAmerican Express credit card download failing

Thanks for trying to help, Angie. Where can I get version 743?
When I started having problems Saturday, I purchase an upgrade to
my old version at the online download page. The only one they have
there for Mac OS X 10.4 or higher is build 735. So I now have that
version installed, tried your instructions, and was still not able
to connect to Amex. What should I try next?

hihowisetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/12207712010-04-06T16:58:25Z2010-04-06T16:58:25ZAmerican Express credit card download failing

Hi hihowise,

You can download build 743 from our website at <a href=

If you still have trouble connecting after updating, can you let me
know what error message you are getting?
