Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Numerica credit union
supports direct OFX connections, which Moneydance (and other
financial software) requires in order to talk directly to a
bank. The best way to get your transactions into Moneydance
is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web
site. You can download into QFX, QIF, OFX or OFC files
(sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which
will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can also open
your bank's download page directly (after entering the appropriate
address in the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu
bar and selecting Online->Open Account Website.

If your bank begins to support direct OFX connections in the
future, we will be happy to work with them.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank
you for your interest in Moneydance.

Thanks for the rapid response to my request. When you have a moment
please explain why Quicken can directly download my Numerica data.
Does Quicken use some other method in addition to OFX to obtain
data from a financial institution?
I am not interested in the additional steps required to get my bank
data. This would be too confusion for my wife to accomplish. Who or
how do I cancel my purchase of Moneydance.
Thanks,Larry

Lawrence Smithtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/379011602015-09-11T19:52:28Z2015-09-11T19:52:28ZPlease add Bank Request

Hi Larry

Quicken has two methods to automate the download of transactions
one is direct connect and the other is often called Web Connect.
Web Connect is a method licensed by Quicken and uses your normal
web login details and basically automates the downloading and
importing of files containing the transactions. As a proprietary
method this is only available for Quicken.

The other method (which Moneydance requires) is Direct connect,
this is an open method so any vendor can use it but it often
requires different login information and enablement of the service
as different infrastructure is used. This is assuming that you bank
offers this service.

I'd be happy to offer you a refund if you purchased Moneydance
directly from our website, but I am inclined to offer you technical
assistance first. This is not an attempt to get out of giving you a
refund, if that is what you want let me know and I will authorize
it. However if there is something specific that I might be able to
assist you with, I am at your service.

Please note that if you purchased Moneydance from a third-party
site, such as the Mac App Store/iTunes, you will have to go through
their site to process your refund request.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank
you for your interest in Moneydance.

1. I checked with Numerica Credit Union and they do not have enough
Quicken users to justify setting up Direct Connect. This explains
why earlier this year my Quicken downloads failed and it took
Intuit about 10 days to fix. Very frustrating time.2. I also
discovered that Intuit is planning to sell Quicken (not QuickBooks)
and try to direct current Quicken users to http://www.mint.com. This leaves
uncertainty about third party software being able to continue to
use Direct Connect. http://fortune.com/2015/08/20/intuit-quicken-sale-turbotax/

I am sure you are aware of Intuit's plan to sell Quicken.3. And as
stated in my earlier email my wife does not like or understand
computers and software. As such any change that adds complexity to
a process causes her frustration and anxiety. Even though you have
a "manual" method of importing the data this will not be adequate
for my use.
I like your product and am sorry it will not be adequate for my
needs. I purchased the product on your web site using PayPal.
Please refund the purchase. Thank you, Larry
