website and toggle on access for downloading directly. They also
provide a separate pin for direct downloads it should be in the
same settings box as the access toggle.

If that doesn't work I got this from another thread on Cap
One

OK, in your normal file, try this:

Log into the capital One 360 website.
Download an OFX or QFX file containing your transactions. This may
be labeled as a Money or Quicken file. Make sure you get an OFX/QFX
file, and not a QIF file.
Import this file into Moneydance.
Try downloading from within Moneydance again, using your website
username and access code as the password.

For the US Bank, if you haven't already, you have to enable
"Direct Connect" access to your account(s) with US Bank. You should
be able to do so by following these instructions:

http://www.usbank.com/cgi_w/cfm/ubank_online/quicken.cfm

Initially, your user ID will be your SSN and your password will
be the PIN that they send.

If you do that and are still having trouble, could you send me
the contents of your error console? Here's how to get the logs:

1) In Moneydance, click on the Help menu and select the Console
Window option. This will open the console messages window.
2) While the Console Window is open, attempt to connect to your
bank. Any error messages should be recorded to the Console.
3) Select all of the text in the Console and use the "Copy to
Clipboard" button at the bottom to copy the text.
4) Paste the text from the message window into a text file
(preferably saved with a .txt extension) and attach that file to
your response here.

The debugging logs that this produces will contain your account
information. I've made sure that this conversation is private, so
the info won't be broadcast to the world, but just to be safe you
should redact any account info in the debug logs. Just replace it
with something like "ACCOUNT NUMBER HERE" and it should be
fine.

checking. I just have a credit card. There doesn't seem to be a PIN
number or anywhere on the site to make downloads automatic. It
seems that Quicken can do this somehow, in fact there is an
information page on how to facilitate the Quicken use of the
Capital One download. Here is the link:
http://www.capitalone.com/online-banking/quicken-instructions/
I don't know if this will help. I couldn't make it work myself, but
maybe I am missing something. I have two other credit cards that
download directly to Moneydance just fine.

bastedotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/379236682015-09-28T16:58:17Z2015-09-28T16:58:17ZUS Bank and Capital One

Unfortunately, Capital One Credit Cards doesn't support direct
OFX connections, which Moneydance requires in order to talk
directly to a bank. The best way to get your transactions into
Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your
bank's web site. You can download into QFX, QIF, OFX or OFC files
(sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which
will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can also open your bank's
download page directly (after entering the appropriate address in
the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu bar and
selecting Online->Open Account Website.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank
you for your interest in Moneydance.

There website seems to indicate that it does. But, perhaps I am
misreading this and it is only their banking sites that will
download automatically, not the credit card account without
banking. Any other thoughts?

bastedotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/379236682015-09-29T04:16:56Z2015-09-29T04:16:56ZUS Bank and Capital One

Quicken has two potential methods to use for downloading
data.

The first uses the OFX standard based Direct Connect. This is
the method that Moneydance and other financial applications also
use.

The second method is Web Connect. As I understand it this uses
the Institutions normal user web page and the user's standard web
login details, but I believe that Quicken licenses this method to
the institution - I suspect it requires Quicken extensions to the
web site - given this it would be a proprietary Quicken
method..

Perhaps your institution is using this second method.

While the spec is available, I think that checks are being done
to ensure it is Quicken that is connecting and not another
application.
