Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Bar Harbor B&T
supports direct OFX connections, which Moneydance (and other
financial software) requires in order to talk directly to a
bank. The best way to get your transactions into Moneydance
is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web
site. You can download into QFX, QIF, OFX or OFC files
(sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which
will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can also open
your bank's download page directly (after entering the appropriate
address in the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu
bar and selecting Online->Open Account Website.

If your bank begins to support direct OFX connections in the
future, we will be happy to work with them.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank
you for your interest in Moneydance.

I really appreciate your quick and thorough response, even if it
wasn't
quite what I had hoped!

I have downloaded last month's statement as a QIF file and have
gone
through to assign categories etc. Because that worked I tried to do
the
same for the transactions from 1/1/15-10/2/15 and Moneydance
doesn't seem
to be able to add earlier transactions. Is there a trick?

Thanks,

You should be able to add the earlier transactions in the same
way you added the later ones. What happens exactly hen you try? Are
you getting any error or status messages?

I won't be able to respond with complete details till this
evening, because
- and this is another issue - I have Moneydance on my home computer
but can't access it from my iPad or phone. Is there some way to do
that?

In my bank's website, I name the date range of transactions and
ask to
export them in QIF format. The transactions are sent to the
Download
folder. (I felt pretty certain they exported correctly, because the
size of
this download was many times larger than the 1-month file.)

In Moneydance, I click on Import and designate my checking
account and
click on the downloaded transactions. Nothing imports. Instead, I
get some
duplicates of a transaction already in the file.

Does that give you enough information?

Thanks,
Lee

file. if you could send that file to me, I can take a look and let
you know if anything looks odd.

There isn't currently a full version of the application
available for mobile devices. You can enter transactions using our
iPhone app, but you can do things like import QIF files or download
new transactions.
