Fidelity Cash Account
I am trying to set up a new "Bank" account in Moneydance for a
Fidelity cash account that will be used as a checking account (with
no stocks, mutual funds, etc. associated with it). When I go to set
up on-line for this account, I get to a screen asking "Please
choose the account that you wish to use", however the options are
grayed out.
Searching through the support site, it seems that several people
have had this problem and some assertions were made for Fidelity
cash account support to be included a 2010 release. I am using
2010r3 (751). Please let me know whether support for this type of
account has been added and provide instructions on how to proceed.
At this stage, all I expect is for transactions from this account
download along with the other accounts - I do not need bill payment
ability through Moneydance.
Thanks,
Manu

EDIT: I think I can figure out how go back to an earlier version. I just do not know where I can download one and which version is best to utilize "Batch Change Account".
Can I ask what steps I would need to take and which version of the software would be best to utilize batch change account? Conversely, is there a way manually edit a moneydance file in some way to make the account change?
This is the first application that may give me the ability to make the switch from Quicken, which is very exciting. However, I use Fidelity mySmartCash for my checking account which identifies itself as an investment account. Without the ability to change it a bank account, it may be just too difficult to use it for managing online transactions.
Thanks for your help.

I am not sure about changing an investment account to a checking account, I think you have to create a new account.

Hi Rick,
You can download Moneydance 2011 from here:
http://moneydance.com/other
Before installing it, you can revert your Moneydance 2012 data set to the earlier format by going to File -> Export, then choose Moneydance 2010 (also used by 2011) as the file format, and export the file. Once you've exported your data set, you can install Moneydance 2011 and open your data file with it and proceed from there.

EDIT: I figured it out...thank you.
Thank you for your reply. Version 2011.2 is installed with my data converted and working.
Can you explain where I may be able to to make the account change from investment to bank (batch change account functionality)?
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Rick Evans
