    Hi Mike,

Moneydance supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect and as soon as you bank will support it we can add it to the list of institutions.

Until then you are still able to import your data into the program. The best way to get your files into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site. You can download into QFX, OFX or OFC files (aka Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can find the steps for manually importing your data in this article.

Whilst it may be great to be able to set up automatic downloads the insistence on the Direct Connect system restricts Moneydance to certain file formats that you did not create. Why not provide for the import of straightforward csv files instead of only working with Quicken files? isn't it time to plough your own furrow and instantly include the ability to import transactions from almost any bank in the world that allows downloads? you could easily specify a file format that almost anyone could work with even if they needed to edit the columns in the file that their bank provides.
It doesn't seem very inventive of you to not step outside the Quicken box. If we wanted to use Quicken we would not be using MD!

Moneydance does allow for the importation of CSV files into Bank and credit card type accounts by installing the Text File Importer extension (through the manage extensions menu) or the third party CSV importer, you can find them at:

For information Direct Connect is using OFX which is a standards base solution, it is not owned by Quicken, although Intuit is one of the organisations in the consortium that controls OFX, you can read about OFX at

    http://www.ofx.net/
