I am interested in switching from quicken to MoneyDance, but I use two banks with which you do not currently work. Are you able to add Arvest and Union Bank of Mena to your group of banks?

    Hi Michael,

Moneydance supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect, and you can view a list of financial institutions that support this feature here. Unfortunately your bank does not support Direct Connect access. If they begin to support this connection method at any point, we'd be happy to establish a connection with them.

Without Direct Connect, you are still able to easily import your data into the program. The best way to get your files into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site.
You can download into QFX, OFX, OFC or QIF files (aka Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can find the steps for manually importing your data in this article.
You can also open your banks website directly from Moneydance by selecting Online --> Open Account Website, which makes the download process easier.

Thank you for your timely response. From my current Quicken set-up, it
appears that both Arvest and Union Bank of Mena do use Direct-Connect for
downloads into quicken. With that information, are you able to establish
a relationship that would allow automatic updates for my accounts in

    Hi Michael,

Can you provide your banks website URL so I can check which connection methods they support?

It's possible you've been connecting with Quicken using Web Connect, Quicken Connect or Express Web Connect.
Moneydance only supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect - This is for your security, and you can read more about why we only support this connection type in our blog and also in this article.
By only using Direct Connect, we can guarantee that your username, password and financial data only ever exists with your bank or on your own personal computer, and at no point are your details stored on another server.

If your banks do support Direct Connect I will flag this discussion for our connection specialist, who can look to establish an automatic download connection with your banks. However, from what I have seen - your banks don't currently support this connection method.

    Hi Michael,

It looks like your banks both support Quicken Connect and Web Connect, but unfortunately not Direct Connect.
Without Direct Connect, you can download data from your banks website, as detailed in my previous reply.
