I can't download and my bank isn't listed for direct connect
I use Sacramento Credit Union, I have no idea what the url is to download data, when I put in the web address in your software it simply opens the main page of the bank. I can't understand why this can't work like quicken where my bank user name and password is transmitted to the bank and the data is downloaded, and for some reason Mint is able to keep my bank balance synced with no intervention on my part. Any ideas?

Hi Lynne,
Moneydance supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect, and you can view a list of financial institutions that support this feature here.
Unfortunately Sacramento Credit Union do not support Direct Connect access. If they begin to support this connection method at any point, we'd be happy to establish a connection with them.
If you've previously connected within other personal finance software, your bank likely supports another connection method - Quicken Connect, Web Connect or Express Web Connect.
Moneydance only supports automatic downloads via Direct Connect - This is for your security, and you can read more about why we only support this connection type in our blog and also in this article.
By only using Direct Connect, we can guarantee that your username, password and financial data only ever exists with your bank or on your own personal computer, and at no point are your details stored on another server.
Without Direct Connect, you are still able to easily import your data into the program. The best way to get your files into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site.
You can download into QFX, OFX, OFC or QIF files (aka Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can find the steps for manually importing your data in this article.
You can also open your banks website directly from Moneydance by selecting Online --> Open Account Website, which makes the download process easier.
