Setting up online accounts

I'm using the trial version before I purchase to make sure I can easily get set up with my online financial accounts. I'm trying to connect to my bank but it won't show me the drop down list at all in the initial "online banking set up" menu, so I have to click on "new connection" to view it. Once I do and have selected my bank from the drop down menu, I get the following message: "Error: Operation timed out". This has happened every single time.

    Hi Jennifer,

It sounds like something on your network is blocking Moneydance. Are you behind any proxies of firewalls that would be blocking Moneydance's secured connections?

    Hi Jessica,

I'm not sure but it's possible. How do I check that on a Mac?

    Hi Jennifer,

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. An error with our support software caused your message to get lost in the mix.

To check your proxy settings, first go to System Preferences and click the Network pane. Then select your currently used interface and click "Configure" and then select Proxies. This will show your proxy settings. Make sure that your settings are correct, or delete any entries if you are not using a proxy.

Also, if you are using the built-in Apple firewall software, you should be sure it's allowing Moneydance through. You can find more information on configuring that firewall on Apple's website at

I'm sorry again for the delayed response. Please let me know if you still have trouble connecting after checking you proxy and firewall settings.
