DUPLICATING AN ACCOUNT UNDER A NEW NAME

I would like to modify an existing account such that I want to remove some transactions.Then I want to save/create the existing account so that I dont lose the existing account hence have a duplicate account.After this I would rename the edited account leaving me with one original account and the same one having been edited.
